The riveting nut column, also called pressure riveting stud or nut column, is a kind of fastener applied to sheet metal, thin plate, chassis, and cabinet. The shape of the riveting nut column is hexagonal at one end and cylindrical at the other end. There is an undercut in the middle between the edge and the cylinder. The internal thread is internal thread.
The hex head is pressed into the preset hole of the thin plate by the press (the hole diameter of the preset hole is generally slightly larger than the outer diameter of the cylinder of the riveting column). The periphery of the hole is plastically deformed, and the deformed portion is squeezed into the undercut groove of the riveting nut column so that the riveting nut column is riveted to the thin plate so as to form an effectively fixed internal thread on the thin plate.
